We collect information you provide directly to us and data generated as you use the app.
Information you provide
- Account information: Name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up (via email/password or Google Sign-In).
- Language preferences: The languages you're learning, your native language, and your level selection.
- Learning goals: Your daily study goal and the reason you're learning (travel, work, personal, etc.).
Information collected automatically
- Learning progress: Lessons completed, XP earned, streak data, vocabulary saved, and exercise results.
- Device information: Device type, OS version, app version, and crash logs for debugging.
- Usage data: Features used, time spent in-app, and session information to improve the experience.
- Voice data: Audio from speech exercises is processed in real-time for pronunciation feedback and is not stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the LingoPath app and its features
- Personalize your learning experience and recommend appropriate lesson levels
- Track and display your progress, streaks, XP, and achievements
- Power the global leaderboard with your display name and XP score
- Send you push notifications about your streak, daily reminders, and app updates (you can opt out at any time)
- Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and improve the app
- Respond to your support requests and communications
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited data only in these cases:
- Service providers: We work with Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and push notifications, and Supabase for course content storage. These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements.
- Google AdMob: If you use the free tier, anonymized advertising identifiers may be shared with Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. You can opt out via your device's ad settings.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
- Business transfers: In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, with advance notice to you.
Your leaderboard display name and XP are visible to other users. You can change your display name or make your profile private in app settings.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Firebase and Supabase, both of which comply with industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL).
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data

6. Children's Privacy
LingoPath is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at aikpak24@gmail.com and we will delete the information.
7. Cookies & Tracking
The LingoPath mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our website may use essential cookies for functionality. We use the following tracking technologies:
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics to understand how users interact with the app
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reporting to identify and fix bugs quickly
- Google AdMob: Advertising identifier for serving relevant ads on the free tier
