1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the LingoPath mobile application or visiting our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use LingoPath. You must be at least 13 years of age to use LingoPath. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. Account Registration
To use most features of LingoPath, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account at aikpak24@gmail.com
- Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- Use only one account per person (creating multiple accounts to manipulate the leaderboard is prohibited)
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Free & Paid Features
Free tier: LingoPath offers a free tier that includes access to core lessons, vocabulary, and basic features. Free users may see non-intrusive advertisements powered by Google AdMob during the app experience (not during active lessons).
Premium features: Certain advanced features may require in-app purchases or a subscription. All purchase terms will be clearly disclosed before any transaction. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and are subject to their respective refund policies.
Coins & virtual currency: LingoPath uses an in-app coin system for purchasing items like Streak Freezes. Coins have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real currency. Purchased coins are non-refundable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of LingoPath
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to manipulate your XP, streak, or leaderboard position
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, databases, or other systems
- Share your account login with others
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, or harmful content
Accounts found cheating the leaderboard (using bots or exploits) will be permanently banned without warning or refund.
5. Content & Intellectual Property
Our content: All lesson content, course materials, audio recordings, illustrations, logos, and app designs are owned by LingoPath and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without explicit written permission.
Your content: Any content you submit to us (such as feedback, bug reports, or suggestions) grants us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to improve our services.
Third-party content: Some lesson content may include references to third-party materials used under license or fair use for educational purposes.
6. Leaderboard & Community Features
The LingoPath global leaderboard displays your chosen display name and XP score publicly to other users. By using the leaderboard, you consent to this visibility.
You may update your display name at any time in app settings. We reserve the right to remove or modify any display name that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be offensive, inappropriate, or misleading.
XP scores and rankings are calculated based on in-app activity and are final. We do not manually adjust rankings except in cases of verified cheating.
7. Disclaimers
LingoPath is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Guarantees of specific learning outcomes or language proficiency levels
- Uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the app
We do not guarantee that LingoPath will be available at all times or that content will always be error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LingoPath and its creator, Athar Ibrahim, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or progress
- Loss of revenue or profits
- Damage to your device or software
- Any other damages arising from your use of LingoPath
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of LingoPath shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $10 USD if you have not made any payments).
9. Termination
By you: You may stop using LingoPath and delete your account at any time from the app's Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms of Service, particularly in cases of cheating, abuse, or illegal activity. In such cases, no refund will be provided for any purchased features or coins.
All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including IP rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) shall survive termination.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of LingoPath shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes may be subject to binding arbitration.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or for other legitimate reasons. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Displaying a prominent notice in the app before the changes take effect
- Sending a push notification (if you have them enabled)
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
Your continued use of LingoPath after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
